Hurricane Florence is on the way and we’re told she’s about to rip up our Eastern shore like something out of a bad Godzilla movie. If you’re like me, you have friends, family, former neighbors, and just social media friends, living on or near the coast.
I always pray about natural disasters, asking God to intervene, knowing His all-consuming power. But, I haven’t always asked others to pray with me. Today I’m asking that we build a Christian coalition, a body of believers praying and asking God for what seems impossible. “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?”
Is there?
Even before the coming of Christ, Father God performed amazing miracles in the Old Testament, proving he answered the prayers of people who had no heavenly Advocate. Unlike us! He made the sun stand still for Gibeon in the book of Joshua until enemies had been avenged; He gave Abraham and Sarah a child at the ages of 100 and 90; He answered Gideon’s request to make a dry fleece wet when there was no dew and a wet fleece dry when there was, then gave him victory over a 135,000-man army with only 300 men; He kept Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from burning alive in a furnace; He parted the Red Sea for Moses when he held up his staff; He heard Daniel’s cry and closed the mouth of the lion. The list goes on and it continues through Jesus with you and with me.
Now, let’s ask Father God for another miracle: to turn Hurricane Florence completely around and send her back out to sea. “For nothing is impossible with God,” the Bible says, and “The prayers of a righteous man are powerful and effective.” Don’t pray the majority prayer–that there will be little destruction and that people will be evacuated. God knows your heart. Pray for an astounding miracle. That God will stop this mean machine in its tracks and turn it back to sea. Then BELIEVE. Then THANK HIM for doing what you asked. Feel excited for what you’re believing. Then REPEAT several times a day. Build your BELIEF with each petition.
Do not plead. Do not wail.PRAISE God liberally. Exercise FAITH.
“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace,” says Hebrews, chapter 6, “that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” This verse excites me! Put on your bold face, your unwavering face. Put on the face of a person who understands the blood and knows the power of Christ. Remember that God let the 17-year old David kill the warrior giant Goliath in the face of two armies, with a slingshot, because David knew who his God was and what He could do.
The Bible tells us that we are filled with the same power that raised Christ from the dead. And collectively we have much more power! As in “where two or more are gathered in My name” power. We are gathered here on this platform, on this planet, for purpose.
Let us be bolder in our prayers and unleash our faith. NOTHING is too hard for God. For His own reasons, He may not reverse this hurricane, but He WILL increase our faith for the next crisis.
Share this if you’re so inclined and let’s expect a miracle!

Connie, such a comforting thing to know your neighbors pray for you. Such a blessing. We have to grow our faith. It doesn’t come naturally. I learned by watching LoRayne and others. xo

That happened during Katrina. I woke up in the middle of the night and the storm was heading to the center of New Orleans and had this overwhelming need to call people and tell them to turn the storm Feeling like an idiot, I called my pastor’s wife and told her that we needed to turn the storm. Evidently lots of folks had that dream and the storm missed the center of the city.
God is so awesome! We just have to be attuned to Holy Spirit. Love that Ingrid! Thank you for sharing!! xo
